[RESOLVED] Logins and In-World Services are Intermittent for Some Residents

[RESOLVED – 18:37 PM PST] Logins have stabilized as well as all other issues. At this time everyone should be able to login again. Thank you for your patience.

[UPDATE – 18:26 PM PST] Continuing to have login problems. We are working to fix this as quickly as possible.

[UPDATE - 18:00 PM PST] Logging into Live Chat and Support Portal are also experiencing difficulties at this time. We will keep you posted on the status.

We have reports of sporadic unavailability of some services such as login not working, transactions failing, and land store down. We are aware of the problem and are working to bring these services back online as quickly as possible.

[RESOLVED - 08:14 AM PST] The failed host has been replaced and everyone should be able to login again.

[UPDATE - 07:42 AM PST] Logins, Registrations and Land Store are back online. However, one of our hosts has failed and this will result in some residents being unable to login and some of the in-world groups will not operate normally. Our engineers are working on this presently and we will update you here.

[UPDATE - 07:34 AM PST]  In-world transactions have been affected by the database upgrade and are not completing. This should be resolved shortly.

To improve the Second Life experience, we are upgrading database hardware right now.

The upgrade has just commenced and will take a maximum of an hour.  During this time, logins, new account registration, and the land store will be unavailable; however, residents who are in world will not be asked to log out.

[2:31 PM Pacific] Logins were momentarily disabled due to database issues.  All is back and logins are re-enabled.

Incomplete registration for some new accounts

One of our web servers is affecting registration, producing the error message “Your Second Life account could not be created at this time”.  If you are receiving this message, please go to the support page of our website, and submit a support ticket under the heading of “I cannot create an account”.

[All Clear] In-World Service Interruption/ Logins Temporarily Closed

All Clear 2:09 p.m. PDT Our databases are working normally and we are giving an all clear for in-world services.

[Update 1:54 p.m. PDT. Login is now open. We will update on In-World services shortly.

Re-opened 1:41 p.m. PDT We are experiencing database overload and are re-opening this issue. In-World Services are affected and we are temporarily restricting login.

Update 1:08 p.m. PDT The databases are working nicely now and we are giving an All Clear for in-world services.

Update 12:50 p.m. Logins are open again. Thank you for your patience. We will monitor the databases before giving a full All Clear on In-World Services.

We are experiencing a high load on our databases. Some in-world services may be affected and logins have been temporarily closed.  We will re-open them as soon as possible. As a precaution please hold off on rezzing no copy items or conducting L$ transactions.

We have reopened logins temporarily and residents may connect to Second Life.

Announcement to Second Life at 2:18 Pacific

Logins have been disabled until further notice.  We are aware that various features within Second Life may not be working at the moment.  This includes L$ payments, Search, Teleport, and Map.  We will let you know as soon as any additional information becomes available.

Failed teleport redirecting residents to random telehub

[Resolved 21:52] The DNS issue is once again resolved and inworld services are restored. Ops will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night, and any changes in the situation will be posted here.

[Re-Opened 23:10] We are again experiencing DNS issues which may result in failures to teleport, rez, and complete in-world transactions. We ask that residents refrain from rezzing or transacting anything important in world until we’ve cleared this issue. We are working on resolving this issue quickly and will keep you updated.

[Resolved 21:35] The DNS issue is once again resolved; the land store has been reopened and inworld services are restored. Ops will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night, and any changes in the situation will be posted here. We now return you to your regularly scheduled weekend, already in progress.
