[RESOLVED] - Database issues

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

[RESOLVED - 09:35am PDT]   The problem seems to be resolved but our team is continuing to look at the root cause.

[UPDATE - 09:30am PDT]  Logins re-enabled.

We have temporarily disabled logins.

We are currently experiencing a problem with the database that may result in difficulties logging in, teleporting, rezzing objects,   We’re aware of this issue and our ops team are working to resolve it as swiftly as possible.  Meantime, please avoid making important transactions or rezzing no-copy objects.

[Resolved] Approximately Five Hundred Regions Inaccessible

Friday, June 13th, 2008

[Resolved 9:55pm PDT] - The routing failure has been resolved and the ~500 regions should either be available now, or will be within a few minutes.

[Update 9:30am PDT] - Inventory database work has completed and logins for that database have been restored.

The ~500 regions affected by the routing failure remain inaccessible at this point, but work continues and we expect it to be resolved soon. If you are unable to login, please try logging in to a different region.

Update 8:59 a.m. PDT We are working on one of our inventory databases. This will cause the database to be down for approximately 30 minutes. Residents on this database will not be able to login. Residents in-world on this database will have restricted services.

A routing failure has rendered about 500 regions inaccessible. We expect resolution to take 30-60 minutes.

[All-Clear] Some Residents Reporting Service Slowdowns

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

All-Clear 9:56 p.m. PDT We have identified and corrected the routing issue.  It is all-clear to conduct transactions and issues stemming from this routing problem should be resolved.

Some residents are reporting problems with appearance and inventory. Operations is tracing potential routing issues. Please do not attempt valuable transactions until an all-clear is given.

[RESOLVED] 500 Regions unavailable

Friday, May 30th, 2008

[RESOLVED 22:32] The issue has been corrected and the affected regions are now accessible.

500 regions are currenty unavailable due to a networking issue. Ops is aware of the problem and is working to correct it. Please monitor this post for updates as they become available.

[ALL CLEAR] Inworld Services Disrupted

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

[ALL CLEAR 11:43 PM Pacific] Logins are open and the asset system is stabilized.  Please be patient logging in for the next few minutes.  If possible, wait for the first login to complete instead of canceling and retrying, so that you maintain your position in the login queue.

[UPDATE 10:58 PM Pacific] Logins are now Linden-only while Operations repairs the asset system. Please do not attempt valuable transactions until the ALL CLEAR is given.

[UPDATE 10:30 PM Pacific] Operations is continuing to assess the slowdown. They’re sufficiently engaged in the effort that getting more details from them at the moment would be a counterproductive distraction. We’ll ask them for more information when possible, and a follow up post when the slowdown is cleared.

There’s an issue with the asset servers which is interfering with a number of inworld services. It is being investigated, but until the issue is resolved, please refrain from making transactions or rezzing no-copy items.

[RESOLVED]Partial grid disconnect

Friday, May 9th, 2008

[10:40 a.m. Pacific] Full grid interconnectivity has been restored.  In world transactions are safe again.  There may be a couple of minutes of slow logins. If you’ve been having trouble getting in, please be patient and try to ride a login all the way through, rather than disconnecting and retrying.

[10:08 a.m. Pacific] Two of our server facilities have abruptly lost interconnection. We’re investigating as quickly as possible. Meantime, symptoms include login failure for some residents, and some transaction failures in world. Please do not rez or transfer valuable (no-copy) assets until we give an all-clear.
