[RESOLVED] Database Issue Affecting Inworld Services/Logins

[RESOLVED 13:30] The database issues have been dealt with. Inworld services and logins have been restored, and the support portal is once again functioning.

There is an issue with the central database causing a number of inworld and website issues for residents. Some residents will experience issues with search, teleporting and transactions, and will be unable to log into the support portal, http://secondlife.com/support. Additionally, some residents will not be able to log in to Second Life at all. Ops is working on the problem, but until fixed, please refrain from making purchases or rezzing no-copy items. We will update this post with further information as it becomes available.

All-clear 10:07 a.m. PDT All services are available including the Land Store, Registrations, Logins and In-World Services.

Update 9:49 a.m. PDT: Registrations will be closed while we work on the central databases. The Land Store will also be temporarily unavailable.

We will briefly close logins while we work on one of our central databases. Please hold off on in-world transactions until we give an All-Clear. Service Disruptions

All Clear 2:09 p.m. PDT Our databases are working normally and we are giving an all clear for in-world services.

[Update 1:54 p.m. PDT. Login is now open. We will update on In-World services shortly.

Re-opened 1:41 p.m. PDT We are experiencing database overload and are re-opening this issue. In-World Services are affected and we are temporarily restricting login.

Update 1:08 p.m. PDT The databases are working nicely now and we are giving an All Clear for in-world services.

Update 12:50 p.m. Logins are open again. Thank you for your patience. We will monitor the databases before giving a full All Clear on In-World Services.

We are experiencing a high load on our databases. Some in-world services may be affected and logins have been temporarily closed.  We will re-open them as soon as possible. As a precaution please hold off on rezzing no copy items or conducting L$ transactions.

Resolved at 10:45PM Pacific Work on the inventory server cluster is complete!  Some residents may need to clear Second Life’s cache (Edit > Preferences > Network > Clear Cache) and relog.  — Frontier

[9:24 pm Pacific]  Ops is addressing a disruption within the inventory server cluster.  Until the repair is completed, some residents will find themselves unable to retrieve inventory or to begin a new viewer session. We’ll keep you posted.

We have identified a technical problem with our database. We are investigating and will keep you updated. This affects all in-world services. Please do not conduct transactions until we give an all clear.

ALL CLEAR 3:26 p.m. PDT Logins are fully open and our database issues have been resolved. It may take a little while for the database to catch up.

Update 2:36 p.m. We have closed logins until the database recovers.

We have identified a database issue which is causing in-world services to be unavailable. Logins, groups, profiles, inventory, teleport, and transactions are affected. Please do not conduct transactions until we have an all clear.

[Resolved 12:17 PDT] - The database issues have been resolved sooner than expected. Please feel free to return to your normal activities at this time.

[Update 11:52am PDT] - Database resynchronization will take about another half hour. We’ll keep you posted.

Due to a problem with our central database we are experiencing several service interruptions, such as inworld asset issues, the website being inaccessible and transaction failures. Please refrain from making transactions for now

[All-Clear] Server issue affecting ~1/16 of residents/groups

[ALL-CLEAR 22:34] The server issue is resolved, and all affected residents, groups and objects should be returning to their normal operation.

There is an issue with a central server which is affecting approximately 1/16 of all Second Life residents. Affected residents are currently unable to login, and those who are already inworld may show as offline, and can expect to experience disruption of inworld services such as IM. Additionally 1/16th of all objects will currently not receive email, and 1/16th of all groups will not be able to use Group Chat. Please monitor this post for updates as they become available.

[RESOLVED 2:13 PM PDT] - The database has been recovered and all services should now perform normally.

We are currently experiencing issues with our database. As such, please refrain from transactions. Slow/problematic logins along with other database related issues may be experienced during this time.

We should be back to normal operation within the hour.
