Second Life Grid Status Reports

[RESOLVED 11:05 am PDT] Services have been restored and logins are re-enabled. For the next few minutes, please be patient as you log in and try to ride a login attempt all the way through, rather than canceling and retrying.

We’re expecting TPs to be more difficult than normal for much of the rest of the day. We’ll be monitoring all services closely and will keep you posted here if in world performance changes.

[Updated 9:40 am PDT] The issue that we are currently experiencing has been identified. However, we do not have an expected ETA. As soon as we have further information we will update this blog.

[8:48 am PDT] We are aware that there are various technical issues taking place currently inworld and on the website. We are investigating this situation and working towards a quick resolution.

Some of the symptoms involved are difficulty to teleport, transactions failing and the inability to login. Please refrain from making inworld transactions, inventory transfers or rezzing items inworld. Please check this blog for further updates.

[2:24 am PST] The inworld difficulties have now been identified and resolved.

We are aware that some residents may experience difficulties with logging in and teleporting.

At this time, it is advisable to refrain from making any inworld transactions or transferring items between accounts. We will update this blog when we have more information.

The auction site is presently unavailable.  We are investigating and working to restore the site as soon as possible.  Please check back here for more details as we will post them as soon as additional information is available.

[POSTED July 14th, 2010]We will be doing rolling restarts to upgrade to server version 1.40.4. This will be the schedule:

• Tuesday, July 20th, 7am PDT: 20% pilot roll
• Wednesday, July 28th, 7am PDT : Rolling Restart for the rest of the grid

[RESOLVED 21 Jul 2010, 8:25 PM PDT] The issues with L$ and land purchases have been resolved.

[Updated 21 Jul 2010, 6:40pm PDT] We are still looking into the issues residents are having purchasing land in world. In addition, some residents are having issues with purchasing L$ in-world. We are investigating both issues and will provide further updates when we have more information.

[Resolved 20 Jul 2010, 11:36pm PDT] We have resolved the issues that residents were having purchasing Linden Dollars (L$) and updating their payment methods. If you are still having trouble purchasing L$ or updating your payment method please contact support.

[Posted 20 Jul 2010, 9:36pm PDT] We are aware that some residents are experiencing issues purchasing Linden Dollars (L$) and updating their payment methods.  We are investigating the cause of these issues.  Please watch this status blog for additional information.  We will update this post as we have additional information available.

We’re aware that a number of Residents are currently affected by international network routing issues which are keeping them from logging in to Second Life.

The problem appears to be decentralized and not with the Second Life servers, facilities or networking, appearing most frequently on connections in and around Europe, particularly The Netherlands. While we are monitoring the issues, we’re unable to assist with correcting the problem.

If we do get some useful news, we’ll update you here.
