[RESOLVED] Live Chat Outage

[Resolved 11:39am PST] Access to Live Chat and support tickets have been fully restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

[UPDATE] Some Residents are unable to submit tickets as well.  We’re chasing down the issue as quickly as possible.

Some Residents may experience some issues accessing live chat. We are aware of this issue and working towards a resolution. Ticket submissions are still working as they should. We apologize for any inconvenience.

[UPDATED] About Land Information On Some Regions

[Updated 5:55am PST 09-Dec-09] We are continuing to work to resolve this issue and will update as soon as we have further information.

[Updated 3:26pm PST] We have made some progress on this issue and are continuing to work on resolving this as quickly as possible. In the meantime, if you find that you are in a region in which you cannot view proper About Land information, as well as crashing when trying to teleport out, please contact support.

There are a number of regions which are experiencing an issue where there is no information presented in About Land. Affected regions may result in crashing when trying to TP out.  We are working to resolve this issue and will update with more information as it becomes available.

Old IMs reappearing in chat

We have had reports of old IMs, some as old as 2 months, reappearing in chat as if they were just resent. We want to assure residents we believe this is a technical problem and not associated with anything intentional or malicious. We are investigating the cause and if you wish to send in a support ticket with your experience we will pass that information on to the investigative team.

[Resolved 10:55am PST] This issue has been resolved and you should be able to view groups, as normal, once again.

We are aware that some residents maybe experiencing some issues with groups not showing inworld. This situation is being investigated and we expect a resolution as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.

[UPDATE] Planned overnight region restarts tonight and tomorrow

[7 Dec 09, 4:25 p.m. Pacific]

We’re bumping this post from last week because there’s still a little work to be done to complete this project. At 7 p.m. Pacific tonight and tomorrow, we’ll be migrating about 800 regions per night. Each affected region will experience a standard restart, including a five-minute warning.

Each phase will conclude by 7 a.m. the following morning.

Beginning at roughly 7 p.m. Pacific this evening, and at about 9 p.m. Pacific tomorrow and Thursday nights, we’ll be migrating about 800 regions per night to new hosts as we perform some work on a few server racks.

Each overnight phase should be concluded by about 5 a.m. Pacific.

Residents and visitors within those regions will receive the customary five-minute warning, followed by a normal restart cycle. Please note that while we’ll work to minimize the chances, it is possible that some regions may be restarted more than once during the maintenance.

As always, we’ll update here with any changes to the scope or scheduling of the project.

[7:00AM PST] A handful of Second Life websites are unavailable at the moment.  We are looking into this and will post any updates here as they become available.

This morning several of our web services were down due to a service interruption. Unfortunately the status blog was one of those affected. The services are once again up and running. We apologize for any inconvenience.
