Second Life Grid Status Reports

[Resolved 1.30am PST] This is now Resolved. Rolling restarts have completed.

[Update 4:40pm PST - Server 1.34.2 was ready earlier than expected and thus we have begun deploying it now. We will update this blog post with any further developments.

Server 1.34.2 will be deployed tonight in order to fix a severe sim-crashing bug.  The roll will be commencing as soon as possible, which is expected to be around 18:00 PST.  Status updates will be posted here and in the forums.

• 2009-12-31, ASAP (~18:00 Pacific) - 100% sim roll

As with all of our server deploys, each region will be restarted once during one of the rolling restart periods. Most regions should be down no more than 5-10 minutes, although some fraction of the regions will take 20-30 minutes to upgrade. If your region stays down for more than 30 minutes, please contact support. Each region will receive warnings starting 5 minutes before that region is restarted.

[30 Dec 7:27pm PST] We will be performing maintenance on JIRA starting at 12am PST. The outtage will be very brief. Please refer back to this post for any updates.

[UPDATED/RESOLVED 30th December 6.40am PST] The maintenance is now finished and all residents should be able to login as normal. If you can not login, please contact support.

[UPDATED 30th December 6.00am PST] Maintenance is starting now. We will update when it is finished.

[29th December 4:45pm PST] We will be performing emergency maintenance on December 30th between 6 - 6:30am PST. We are performing this maintenance in response to login issues that occured on Dec 29th. This will effect a small portion of residents. Those particular residents will not be able to log in or will be logged off if they are inworld during the maintenance. Please refer back to this blog for further updates.

[UPDATED/RESOLVED] 4:21pm PST] Logins are back to normal.

[UPDATED 3:35pm PST] The majority of logins have returned to normal. Residents may find difficulty with logging in; however, it should be successful after a few attempts. We are continuing to work on and monitor the issue. We will update this blog with any new developments.

[UPDATED 3:04pm PST] We have resolved the initial issue; however, logins for all accounts may be slow or fail currently. We expect this to last approximately 15 - 20 minutes. Please continue to watch this blog for further updates.

[UPDATED 2:36pm PST] We are in the midst of resolving this issue, which will have resulted in those affected being logged out of Second Life. We anticipate about an hour before those affected will be able to log back in. We will update this blog when further information is available.

[POSTED 2:19pm PST] We are currently experiencing log in issues which affect a small percentage of Residents. This will prevent the ability to log in, although it’s possible some of those affected may be able to log in after several attempts. We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. Please watch this blog for further updates as they become available.

[8:50pm Pacific] [RESOLVED] Phone support issues have been resolved.

[7:50pm Pacific] Phone support is available again, however there are still intermittent connectivity issues at this time. If your call will not connect or if it connects with poor quality, please retry again after a short time. We will post here when more information is available.

[6:10pm Pacific] We’re currently experiencing some connectivity issues with our phone support system. Billing and password reset phone support is unavailable at this time. The Concierge phone support line is still available. We are working on this issue and will post here when we have more information.

[7:08pm PST] All inworld issues have been resolved.

[POSTED 4:57pm PST] We are currently experiencing some issues which may prevent residents from logging in to Second Life. This issue is also affecting updates of in-world information, including online status, transactions and other related functions. Please refrain from making any transactions or handling no-copy objects until this blog has been resolved.

[5:30 AM PST] Phone support has been restored!

[4:30 AM Pacific] We have temporarily lost phone support via our service provider. We have taken steps to contact them and hope to have phone support back up as soon as possible. We will keep you posted and let you know as soon as phone support has been restored.

[RESOLVED 2:07pm PST] All related issues have been resolved. If you have issues logging in, please try again in a few minutes. All other functions should have returned to normal functionality at this time.

[UPDATED 12:56pm PST] This issue is affecting updates of in-world information, including the in-world balance display. Please refrain from making any transactions or handling no-copy objects until this blog has been resolved.

[POSTED 12:38pm PST] We are currently experiencing some login issues which may prevent residents from logging in to Second Life. We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible and will update this blog post as information becomes available.

[POSTED 9:26am PST] Over the next two days, starting today, we are conducting maintenance on our servers which will affect some regions.  There will be occasional 5 minute restarts while this maintenance occurs.

[RESOLVED 9:19am PST] The Second Life Blogs service has completed and the blogs are now available.
