[RESOLVED] Voice Currently Experiencing Problems In Second Life

[2:22 PM PST] Voice issues are now resolved.

[1:21 PM PST] We are currently experiencing voice issues in Second Life. It appears to be affecting a small segment of our residents and we are working with the engineers to correct the problem Please keep checking back here for updates.


Tier Billing

There have been some residents who may have experienced their tier not having been billed last night as it should have. This should be resolved by tomorrow morning.

[Resolved 06:57am PST, 13 November 2009] The maintenance work has been completed.

We’ve scheduled a quick server move for tomorrow (Friday, 13 November) at 6 a.m.  During the move, features involving currency or L$ will be unavailable.  These include:

  • LindeX transactions,
  • updating payment info at the Website, and
  • upgrading to Premium membership.

We anticipate that all services will be restored by 6:30 a.m., possibly sooner.  If the scope or scheduling of the work change, we’ll update you here.

[RESOLVED] Rolling Restarts

[Resolved,10:21am Pacific] The rolling restarts that began last night at 8:20pm PST have now been completed.

[8:20pm Pacific] We are beginning tonight’s rolling restarts. Each region will have a 5 minute warning prior to shutting down and will only be offline for a short time. We will post here when the restarts are complete.

[12 Nov 7:54am PDT] Resolved - isolated inventory issues have been resolved.

[12 Nov 7:43am PDT] We are currently experiencing isolated inventory issues. This issue will effect a small portion of residents. If you are having issues seeing or rezzing inventory, we are working to correct this issue as quickly as possible. Refer back to this blog for updates.

[UPDATE] Inventory Database Maintenance (Nov 12)

[Updated 7:00am PST - Nov 12, 2009] Inventory database maintenance has begun. We will resolve this post when it has completed.

We are arranging a partial outage on Thursday November 12, 2009, for maintenance to an inventory database. Only a small group of residents will be affected by this between 7:00am and 7:30am (PST). Affected residents will be logged out, if in-world, at the time; as well as being unable to log in.

[RESOLVED] Region restarts and isolated asset issues.

[Resolved 1:06pm PST] Both the region restart issues and transactions are now resolved. This should also resolve any related asset upload issues.

[Updated 12:41pm PST] We have identified the cause of the transaction issues and are applying a fix to affected regions. This may cause residents in those regions to be logged out without warning.

We are currently experiencing issues where some regions are not returning after a restart (or crash). This is currently being addressed as efficiently as possible. In isolated incidents, there may also be issues with asset uploads and/or transactions.

We will update this blog as more information becomes available.

Rolling Restarts

We are about to begin another rolling restart of up to 640 regions. All regions will receive a 5 minute warning before shutting down, and we will update this post once we’re done.

[7:30pm Pacific - Nov. 10, 2009] We are now commencing rolling restarts of approximately 750 regions. We will post here when the restarts are complete.

[RESOLVED] Login Difficulties

[5:56pm Pacific] The system clock issues have been resolved, and you should now be able to log in normally.

[5:15PM Pacific] We’re currently experiencing an issue with logins. You may see a message that indicates you cannot log in due to the system clock being set incorrectly. As a temporary workaround, setting your computer clock to Pacific Standard Time should allow you to login.

We’re working on resolving this issue as quickly as possible and will post here with updates.
