We recently made several changes to the Second Life servers to address a potential security issue. To take advantage of the recent server upgrades and ensure that Second Life functions as you expect, we have released a new version of the Second Life Viewer.
Residents using the Official and Release Candidate versions of the 1.23.4 Viewer are required to update to version 1.23.5. Those of you still using version 1.22.11 will be offered version 1.23.5 as an optional update. If you choose to remain on 1.22.11, you may notice changes in the way notecard editing behaves. If you use a viewer not created by Linden Lab, you may also see changes in the way notecard editing behaves. To avoid any potential confusion caused by these behavioral changes, we strongly recommend that you immediately update to the new 1.23.5 Second Life Viewer.

[3:30 AM PDT] Service to phone support has been restored.
[12:20 AM PDT] We have temporarily lost phone support via our service provider. We have taken steps to contact them and hope to have phone support back up as soon as possible. We will keep you posted and let you know as soon as phone support has came back.

We are aware of current problems with the Second Life homepage. We are working to fix the problem and hope to have it resolved soon. We will update this post as soon as we have more information as to when we can expect this problem to be fixed.

[RESOLVED Oct 14, 08:45am PDT] The maintenance work has been completed.
[POSTED - Oct 12, 2:07pm PDT] Wednesday, October 14, there will be minor server maintenance which will result in a subset of users that will be logged out of Second Life or unable to login during this time. The maintenance is set to run from 6:30am (PDT) to 7:00am (PDT). This work has now started.
Server 1.30.2 is scheduled for deployment this week to address an important security issue. The schedule is as follows:
* 2009-10-13, Tuesday, 7:00am - Even sims (50% of grid) - [Complete]
* 2009-10-14, Wednesday, 7:00am - Odd sims (50% of grid) - [Complete]

[11 October 2009, 7:40pm] We are currently having problems with our Credit Card service provider. We are investigating the issue. This can cause problems with L$ purchases. If you are attempting to update your credit card details and it fails, please try to enter once more. If after trying twice and still experiencing problems, please wait until the issue has been resolved.
