[21. November '08, 02:55 am PST] We are seeing some calls to our support telephone line not being put through to the operators. If you experience a call unexpectedly disconnecting or not making contact at all, please try again. You can use the ticket submission system and live chat as usual during this time.
We are releasing the first iteration of the new Viewer 1.22 Release Candidate (RC0). Help us to identify new bugs and try out the new features before it becomes an official download for Second Life! Participating in the Release Candidate viewers is completely optional. You may install this viewer side-by-side with the official viewer that you normally use.
This viewer is a maintenance release. There are over 60 fixes that solve bugs from previous versions of Second Life. Some of these are small improvements that make existing features work more smoothly (like Beacons and Snapshots). Some fixes improve glitches in the rendering of avatars.

NOTE: Because of a number of known bugs in this early candidate, we have made the RC0 viewer an optional upgrade from the previous Release Candidate. You can choose to wait for RC1 before upgrading your Release Candidate.
Still, we do need your help to find crash cases and other feedback! Please visit the Test Viewers page to download the 1.22 RC0 viewer at your convenience.

The next round of upgrade maintenance of our 501 servers is scheduled for 10:00 AM Pacific. The regions on those servers will be shut down in a delayed stopping process and shortly after come back up on their own.
Please find a list of regions that may be affected by this maintenance after the break. We cannot be 100% accurate because of the way regions are shut down and replaced by another.
[11:16 AM Pacific - CLOSED] Resident registrations are working normally.
[9:18 AM Pacific] New residents who are signing up to Second Life are not receiving a confirmation email at this time to help finalise their account registration process.
Our technicians are currently working on the problem.
[8:40 AM Pacific - RESOLVED] Web-based Lindex transactions are operating normally now.
[7:44 AM Pacific] Residents are experiencing difficulty in completing transactions on the Second Life website. Transactions being carried out in-world are unaffected.
We are aware of this and are investigating the cause. We will update you here with more information.
[8:26 AM Pacific - RESOLVED] The partial inventory maintenance is complete.
[6:30 AM Pacific] We’re arranging a partial outage on Thursday morning, November 20, 2008, for an upgrade to a group of inventory databases. There will be groups of residents affected by this between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. PST. Groups of affected residents will not be able to log in during this time.
[13:03 RESOLVED] Concierge level telephone support has been restored.
[07:01 AM Pacific] Some calls are now getting through to our Concierge Team. If you find yourself unable to get through first time then please keep trying.
[6:05 AM Pacific] Our phone support for Concierge level residents is currently offline. We are contacting our provider to investigate the problem, but for now our lines are down for Concierge Support. We will have an update as soon as we have word on when we can expect phone support to be available once again.

The next round of upgrade maintenance of our 501 servers is scheduled for the morning of 11/20. The first group will be started at 6:00AM PST, and the second group at 10:00AM PST. The regions on those servers will be shut down in a delayed stopping process and shortly after come back up on their own.
Please refer to the Second Life Grid Status Reports page for more information, including lists of the regions affected, which will be posted roughly an hour prior to each round of maintenance.
[RESOLVED] The 1200+ regions are back up.
Due to an issue with the 1.25 server deploy, we are rolling back effected regions to the 1.24 servers. The current action to do so have cause 1200+ regions to shot down. They are expected to be back within the hour.
