[Resolved] Phone Support Maintenance 16 August

[Resolved at 6:20AM Pacific] Phone Support maintenance has been completed!

[UPDATE August 16, 05:16 am PDT] The maintenance work has started, and you might experience unexpected errors on the support phone lines as detailed beyond. We will update you as soon as our vendor is done with their maintenance work.

Our phone support system vendor is scheduling two hours of maintenance Saturday, 16 August, 4am - 6am PDT. During this time, phone service into Support may be unexpectedly interrupted or unavailable. We’ll watch for any unexpected developments in the maintenance effort and report them here.

[Resolved - 12:00 PM] This issue has been cleared.

[UPDATE - 07:53 AM]  Our investigations are ongoing but our engineers are hopeful that any disruption in-world is minimal.  We hope to update you again soon.

We are experiencing some network issues that may have an effect on in world experience. This may manifest itself in intermittent problems with assets rezzing, saving scripts and notecards, teleporting, transactions, etc. We will keep you updated on any new developments or resolutions as they come in.

[2:07AM Pacific] Residents may not able able to contact Support by submitting a ticket or initiating a live chat, our Support provider is temporarily unavailable.

[RESOLVED] Database Issue Affecting Inworld Services/Logins

[RESOLVED 13:30] The database issues have been dealt with. Inworld services and logins have been restored, and the support portal is once again functioning.

There is an issue with the central database causing a number of inworld and website issues for residents. Some residents will experience issues with search, teleporting and transactions, and will be unable to log into the support portal, http://secondlife.com/support. Additionally, some residents will not be able to log in to Second Life at all. Ops is working on the problem, but until fixed, please refrain from making purchases or rezzing no-copy items. We will update this post with further information as it becomes available.

[RESOLVED] Concierge Telephone Support Unavailable

[RESOLVED 23:45] The Concierge telephone support lines are available once again.

[UPDATE 22:31] The Concierge telephone support lines remain unavailable. Work continues but until further notice all residents seeking Concierge support should continue to use the live chat and ticket support processes.

There is an issue affecting Concierge telephone support lines. Concierge telephone support is currently unavailable, although billing support lines are unaffected. Residents seeking Concierge support should proceed through the live chat or ticket support process until the issue is resolved. Please monitor this post for updates as they become available.

[Resolved] LindeX Failures, Land Store Down

[Resolved 7:49pm PDT] The payment system is back online and the land store and LindeX website have both been re-enabled.

[Update 6:35pm PDT] We have disabled the LindeX website until this issue is resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to a hardware failure at one of our merchant provider’s data centers, land buys, L$ buys, and payment method updates are not working at this time. We have disabled the land store because of this issue. We are working with our merchant provider to resolve this as soon as possible, and will update this post as the situation progresses.

[Resolved] ~500 Regions Unreachable

[Resolved 7:56 PM PDT] The affected regions should now be back to normal.

An issue with one of our VPNs has lead to approximately 500 regions being unreachable. We are aware of this problem and currently working on it. We expect these regions to be otherwise unaffected and should be accessible again shortly. Please note that this issue may make logins and teleports appear affected as well, if you are logging in to or teleporting to one of the unreachable regions. We will keep you updated here as the situation progresses.

[RESOLVED] Inworld Searches Unavailable/Login Issues

[5:14PM Pacific] All Login and search problems have been resolved.

[3:37PM Pacific] While we are still having some difficulty with logins, the other issues appear to be resolved. Stay tuned for further info.

An internal issue is making Inworld Searches unavailable at present. Additionally, some residents are reporting difficulties logging in. Ops believes they have identified the issue and are working to correct it. Please monitor this post for updates as they occur.

[RESOLVED] Video and Machinima Currently Unavailable

[RESOLVED 6:50AM PDT] We’ve gotten word that YouTube has fixed the problem and embedded videos should now be working normally once again.

Due to known technical issues at YouTube, the embedded videos featured in the Showcase Tutorials and Photos & Machinima sections will be unavailable until further notice. We are aware of the problem and are monitoring YouTube’s progress on fixing the issue. In the meantime, all of the Tutorial videos are still accessible directly at this link: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Video_Tutorials
